Paul Pogba’s declaration on Sunday that he is considering ‘a new challenge’ has been interpreted as a definitive conclusion that the French midfielder is indeed on his way out of Manchester United.

Real Madrid have been widely regarded as his most probable suitors in a saga that has been around for weeks altogether.

While it does appear that United are not eager on selling their most valued player, the club may have little hand in dealing with the exit given the personal interest that Pogba has on a departure. As of such, contingency plans need to be in motion to prepare for life without the World Cup winner.

According to Mundo Deportivo, it will be Barcelona who may be most affected by Pogba’s departure.

The outlet claims that United will only accept an offer from Real Madrid if the transfer fee is in excess of £150 million.

While an enormous figure, the amount may still prove to be in inadequate to fund the transfers of the two players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on signing as the Frenchman’s replacement.

The transfer of Ivan Rakitic which has been reported for quite a few days now is likely to be completed as it was believed to be in the works even before Pogba made his shocking admission.

The Croatian is not eager on leaving the Camp Nou and settling for Europa League football with United, but reports have suggested that Ernesto Valverde is not opposed to offloading him if the right price is offered.

Philippe Coutinho is the second player that is touted to join Old Trafford. It is clear that a vast majority of the funds acquired from Pogba’s sale will go towards prying him from Barcelona.

The Brazilian is eager to move away from the Spanish giants regardless and could bring some much-needed Premier League experience and creativity to United.
