Huge ‘Koulibaly To Man Utd’ Boost After Napoli Secure £32m Transfer
This week’s transfer activity for Manchester United has proven to be one riddled with a flurry of hope. After securing the transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the club is expected to secure many more signings to completely bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
While midfielders like Sean Longstaff and Bruno Fernandes primarily occupied the likely deals they are expected to secure immediately, there has been a conspicuous absence of activity for one position.
United are suffering from a lack of world-class talent at the heart of their defense. It is a problem they were expected to prioritize and rectify. However, after an initial burst of disappointment, the club haven’t been actively linked with any centre-backs, as of recent.
However, that may change now.

As per the Sun, United have received a massive boost in their pursuit for Kalidou Koulibaly due to a specific move made by Napoli.
The Serie A giants recently secured the transfer of Kostas Manolas from Roma. The Greek centre-back has arrived through a £32 million deal despite heavy interest from Arsenal.
This can be viewed as a chance for United to go in for Koulibaly who they have pursuing from a long time. The Senegalese centre-back perfectly fits their needs and would also constitute a massive signing, despite being 28 years of age.

However, a separate claim suggests that Manolas isn’t the replacement for Koulibaly and is instead meant to partner him at the back at Napoli.
The Greek defender is supposedly a replacement for the departing Raul Albiol. The same report also indicates that manager Carlo Ancelotti highly rates the Koulibaly and isn’t prepared to let go of him at any cost.
Meanwhile, the higher-ups at Napoli have placed a massive £85 million pricetag on the centre-back. It now remains to be seen whether United will view that price as a deterrent or an investment.
