Manchester United Agree Personal Terms With Bruno Fernandes
Manchester United are in for a busy transfer week. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and company have clearly identified the regions they want to reinforce and ahead of their pre-season tour the intent to buy is strong.
A host of names have been linked with the Red Devils after the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka but progress on each is varied.
However, there may now be definitive news on one name.
According to Gazzetto Dello Sport (via MEN), Manchester United have agreed to personal terms with Bruno Fernandes. The Sporting Lisbon midfielder has been on the club’s radar all season and in the past weeks, speculations had indicated that they were closing in on the deal.

In addition to the terms, the report also indicates that a transfer fee between the two clubs is the last step before this saga is complete. A £50 million fee is what Sporting desire but the Red Devils may try to bring down that amount.
Solskjaer is allegedly eager to replace Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini at Old Trafford with Fernandes and Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff expected to be the midfielders coming in.

The 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder will bring with him heaps of creative intent. This is something that the Premier League club desperately need as their source of assists has been sparse over the years.
Further, the versatility of his skillset will be invaluable to the Norwegian gaffer, particularly if the Paul Pogba saga goes south before United are able to secure a replacement. Tactically, Fernandes seems to be an apt fit in a midfield pivot with the tendency for an attacking midfielder as well.
It will be interesting to see how all these midfield deals will affect the future of Fred. The Brazilian midfielder was signed for a sizeable £52 million transfer fee last season. What role will he hope to attain in the season to come?
