Harry Maguire Has Told Leicester City He Wants To Leave
The Harry Maguire saga has suddenly been popping after a period of relative silence. Both Manchester United and Manchester City were believed to be in heavy pursuit until last week but then it was indicated that Leicester City had valued him far too high.
However, there was strong activity in the past two days with Manchester United allegedly bidding £70 million for the English centre-back only for the Foxes to reject the offer and demand up to £85 million.
Now, Maguire has added an extra element of spice to the saga.
According to the Sun, Maguire has told Leicester City that he wants to move this summer.

The 26-year-old has indicated that he is eager for European football next season and that he has a preference to join Manchester City.
Interestingly, the same report also states that the Sky Blues are willing to match United’s £70 million bid by splitting it into £65 million plus £5 million in add-ons.
At this stage, it is unclear what will be the next step for the two Mancunian giants. Past reports had indicated that they weren’t eager to move above this threshold.

However, if Maguire himself is pushing for an exit, then a slight financial shove from either side ought to do the trick. Further, Arsenal were also believed to be in the running for his signature, although they weren’t willing to go over a relatively paltry fee of £50 million for his services.
Manchester United are desperate for a world-class centre-back to solve their defensive woes. This window has been plagued with defender sagas that didn’t materialize for them with Mattjis de Ligt the most notable name.
While other top centre-backs are still very much in the fray for the club, at the moment it seems clear that United are targeting Maguire. How far will they go in their chase?
