Inter are expected to make a bid for Romelu Lukaku next week.

The Serie A giants have identified Lukaku as their top target, as new boss Antonio Conte hopes to sign the striker up this time around.

The Italian tactician had previously tried to bring the then Everton superstar to Chelsea, but Manchester United hijacked the deal at the last moment, making the player a Red Devil.

Now, after failing to establish himself in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s setup, the 25-year-old looks set to depart from Old Trafford. Further, Inter are expected to make their official move next week, reports Mirror.

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta recently had his say about his club’s approach, stating: “The transfer market is a work in progress. We are working hard to get the best squad possible for the new season. We are ambitious and want the best team possible.

“We also must find ways to respect all financial perimeters, too. We cannot rush things because that can lead to mistakes. We have clear ideas, but we need to be patient. We have important goals and transfer targets in our mind.”

Further, the report adds that Lukaku also expects this switch to be wrapped up soon. In fact, the forward hopes to play for Inter when they take on Manchester United in an International Champions Cup clash in Singapore on July 20.

For now, however, he has traveled with the Mancunian squad to Australia, as Solskjaer and co. begin their worldwide pre-season tour, which will also take them to China, Norway, and Wales.
