BREAKING: Manchester United Agree Deal To Sign Harry Maguire

Manchester United’s pre-season tour got off to a brilliant start with a 2-0 victory against Perth Glory. Now, it is about to get a whole lot better.
The Red Devils were expected to make a series of deals ahead of the tour, but most sagas they were involved in seemed to be stuck in some sort of a deadlock or the other.
However, they have finally made definitive progress over the acquisition of an important player.
As per multiple reports including Duncan Castles and Ian McGarry from The Transfer Window Podcast and the Sun, Manchester United and Leicester City have agreed to a deal for the transfer of Harry Maguire.

The English defender will move to Old Trafford for a grand total of £80 million in transfer fees, with £60 million paid up-front and add-ons contributing another £20 million.
This will make Maguire the most expensive defender in the world, surpassing the £75 million that was paid for Virgil Van Dijk by Liverpool.
The reports add that the 26-year-old will fly to Manchester and is set to have a medical on Monday.

This has been a saga that United have been involved in from quite a while. Maguire was one of the key targets that Jose Mourinho wished for last season when it became evident that the club’s defensive problems were getting worrisome.
It was earlier reported that Leicester had rejected a £70 million offer from United, holding out on a bigger fee. This pricing-out was a major stumbling block as the Mancunian giants weren’t willing to go that high. Manchester City are believed to have dropped out of the race for the player’s signature for a similar reason.
However, now it appears that the negotiated add-on fees have placated the Foxes, who have reportedly secured the services of Lewis Dunk for £45 million to replace the outgoing Maguire.
