Manchester United’s impeccable pre-season form has certainly muted reports about their transfer activity.
The club is still expected to make a few more investments in their squad and will likely also make concrete decisions about probable exits given how the transfer window will end in just over two weeks from now.
The game against Inter Milan was arguably the best reality check as to the issues still persistent in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s lineup. The need for a ball-playing centre-back will likely be solved when the Harry Maguire saga sees fruition.

The most recent claim, as collected by the Sports Witness citing Portuguese outlet O Jogo suggests that Sporting manager Marcel Keizer is preparing for Fernandes’ exit.
The report suggests that the gaffer now considered the move to Manchester United to be a ‘probable’ one and that he is looking at altering the squad and tactics to best deal with the departure of their crucial talent.

No new claims were made about the progress of the deals, with past reports indicating repeated travels made by the agent of the 24-year-old to England in a bid to get the best possible deal.
