Southampton will be Manchester United’s next away opponents as the home side themselves look for all three points as they are placed in the relegation zone, although it ought not to cause them much worry just yet.

United are on the back of two games without a win and will be eager to break the poor spell.

Here’s how the two sides are likely to lineup for the game.

The Saints also have injury concerns and will be without Nathan Redmond and Ryan Bertrand, while the latter could make a cameo appearance. Similarly, doubts exist over the availability of Moussa Djenepo and Sam McQueen.

Ralph Hassenhuttl’s men did receive back-to-back confidence over the past few days as they managed wins in both the Premier League as well as in the Carabao Cup encounter against Fulham. However, this will also be a fatigue contributor ahead of the game.

Will they succeed in frustrating the Red Devils as the Wolves and Eagles did?

The Red Devils had injury concerns at the end of last week’s loss to Crystal Palace and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the worst.

Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw won’t be a part of the away trip and will be expected to return only after the international break, akin to Diogo Dalot who was injured prior to last week itself. The trio doesn’t have as much to worry as the long-term absentees Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Eric Bailly do.

This means that Ashley Young will likely start as the left-back and be the club’s captain for the outing. The bigger question is who will lead the frontline for United: Will Solskjaer opt to give Mason Greenwood a full-game, or will Marcus Rashford play as a true striker and permit the movement of Jesse Lingard to a wider role?

Similarly, who will be on penalty-duty this time around as the curse of missing spot-kicks afflicted both Paul Pogba as well as Marcus Rashford.
