Manchester United supporters were left disheartened yet again as their side failed to notch a victory away to Southampton.

The manner in which the game began indicated that the Mancunian giants would continue their poor form as the Saints didn’t bother playing defensively and took strong hold of possession.

However, United redeemed themselves in their first foray forward itself as Daniel James netted a spectacular goal, his 3rd in 4 games.

The Red Devils failed to keep up the pressure though and were punished for it when the Saints equalized in the second-half.

To add to the frustration, despite the home side going down to ten men due to suspension, Solskjaer’s frontline failed to sustain enough pressure to find a lucky shot from somewhere. The ever-elusive Fergie time goal never arrived and the game ended 1-.

After the fixture, furious United fans are riddling social media with their thoughts on the player’s showing and the gaffer’s tactics.

Amongst the poor performers of the day, it is the impact of Marcus Rashford, or lack thereof, which has fans most worried. The English striker, who was hailed by Solskjaer to be the go-to striker this season, failed to make a solid impact against Southampton.

Anthony Martial’s injury meant that Rashford would lead the frontline rather than play from wide and despite trying on upwards of six occasions, the English forward’s shots never found the mark.

His general dynamic in the game also appeared lackluster, with Daniel James displaying heaps more offensive intent.

Many supporters feel that Mason Greenwood may now have to rise to the occasion and be entrusted with a full game in the striker’s spot.
