Man United In Contract Talks With Mason Greenwood, Confirms Solskjaer

Mason Greenwood was immensely impressive when Manchester United won 1-0 against FC Astana in the Europa League. The 17-year-old’s winner was also his first senior goal for the Red Devils.
He also became the youngest Manchester United player to score in Europe and was the club’s first 17-year-old to do so.
The teenage academy graduate has been a sensation at the Old Trafford outfit for months now with fans eager to see him get more first team football.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had specifically mentioned that he would deploy Greenwood more often but in the Premier League, the forward has been used conservatively, to say the least.

However, following this goal, Greenwood may now be slated for an even bigger step at the club.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that the club was indeed in talks with Greenwood over a contract renewal, akin to the murmurs that were doing the rounds in the build-up to the Europa League game.

The Norwegian gaffer commented: “We’re always in talks with the boys, how we see the future, and Mason is one we want to keep with us. He is learning every single day in training, training with better players and the more match time he gets the better tempo, and today was a good introduction for him.”
He went on to justify his transfer choices of offloading Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to benefit Greenwood by stating: “For me it was the right decision for the club. He is going to be important for us this season. He’s not played a lot so far, but he’ll get minutes.”
Greenwood’s fellow academy graduate Marcus Rashford also had his career rolling following a memorable night in Europe. There is every chance that this English starlet can copy the former’s heroics, even though Rashford didn’t have the best of nights playing as a striker against Astana.
