Solskjaer Reacts To Jose Mourinho’s Criticism Post West Ham Defeat

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit back at Jose Mourinho’s criticism following Manchester United’s defeat to West Ham.
The Red Devils suffered an embarrassing 2-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday night, with their uninspiring performance attracting heavy criticism from supporters and pundits alike.
Jose Mourinho, who appeared on Sky Sports as a guest pundit, also dropped some negative remarks on his former team, as he stated: “I can’t find [any positives regarding United’s performance]. We were bad last season, but I don’t see any improvement this season.
“Even with three new players, and I have to say, players with a positive impact. I like the three, and I think they are bringing some good quality to the team, but the team as a team, I don’t like at all. I’m not surprised by the result and I don’t think Ole can take any positives from the game.”

Now, Solskjaer has responded to the comments made by his predecessor, by shedding light on the Portuguese tactician’s failure to beat West Ham on the same ground last season.
“Well I think he’s got a right to his opinion,” said Ole. “Of course we lost here last year, it’s always a difficult ground to go to and we hope we should do better than we did. We hope for better.

“But the key moments, they grasped and we didn’t, I have to say. Two fantastic finishes from two good left feet and we just didn’t take the chances when we had them.”
Further, the Norwegian proved Mourinho wrong by managing to find some positives from the defeat, as he added: “It’s a good group to work with, they’re determined. This is not… sometimes along the road you’re going to hit some bumps, as we’ve said, some highs and low.
“This group was out there, determined, they showed a desire, we wanna get out, it was a good atmosphere in the dressing room, and they’ve got their focus right.”
