Ryan Giggs Tells Solskjaer To Sign Five New Players To Succeed At Man Utd

Manchester United’s present form is certainly a point of great worry. What was slated to be a turn-around season for the Red Devils has ended up becoming their worst start to the Premier League campaign in decades altogether.

Most pundits have written off their title hopes entirely and now there are doubts as to whether they’ll even play Champions League football next season by virtue of a top-four finish in the league.

The issues with the team aren’t fully straight-forward and while injuries have been a large part of their struggles, there are deeper problems at the club.

Now, a familiar face has provided some fairly predictable advice.

Ryan Giggs has urged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to spend, with the Press Association (via the Mirror), having quoted him to have stated: “They need another four or five players. He (Solskjaer) has bought in three players but he probably needs seven or eight (altogether).”

However, the Welsh national team manager also advocated the need for patience: “But you can’t do that over one transfer window, so you have to be patient because it will be slow. The culture has changed and what he is trying to do was much needed. He needs time.”

At the end of this summer window, it was amply clear that the amount spent by the Red Devils was simply not adequate for a side that harbors title-winning ambitions. Then again, this may point to a larger issue with Ed Woodward’s style of business and the Old Trafford outfit’s failure to appoint a director of football.

While the cries to sack Solskjaer is prominent in the past few days, one must not forget that this is a tested path at the club and one that has led them to several miserable seasons. Another reset incoming or will a spending spree redeem them?
