Player Ratings: Norwich City 1-3 Manchester United

Carrow Road witnessed an electric evening of football as Manchester United won 3-1 against Norwich City. Scott McTominay opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the first half, where two penalties were saved by Tim Krul.

Marcus Rashford redeemed himself by scoring in that half itself and later by creating Anthony Martial’s second-half winner.

Onel Hernandez gifted a deeply injured Norwich City some consolation with his 88^th minute goal.

David De Gea – 7.0

The Spaniard had very little to do for most of the game and made a couple of great saves in the first-half. Could have easily kept out Hernandez’s goal.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 8.0

Absolute beast at right-back and a constant attacking threat during his forward runs.

Harry Maguire – 7.6

United have found their dynamic centre-back who can dictate the tempo of the build-up. Ought to perform better during corner kicks.

Victor Lindelof – 7.3

Solid partner to Maguire and a likewise helpful presence during his rare forward carries of the ball.

Ashley Young – 7.4

Pacey and quick with his passing, Young has kept his position safe from Brandon Williams for now.

Scott McTominay – 8.2

Goal-scorer and tempo creator, the youngster succeeded in bossing the midfield. Clear Man of the Match.

Fred – 7.6

Felt a bit unsure at times but certainly was clinical with his passes. Ought to provide more attacking runs.

Daniel James – 8.2

Mastermind behind two of United’s goals. Exceptional vision in passing and crossing and slowly embedding himself into Solskjaer’s attacking trident.

Andreas Pereira – 6.8

Worst United player on the pitch. His clever pass in the early on was arguably his only significant contribution to the game.

Marcus Rashford – 8.0

Missed the penalty but then scored his 50^th goal for United. Much more composed in this position and his creation and link up of Martial’s goal was simply stunning.

Anthony Martial – 8.0

Will be gutted at missing the penalty but scoring later on in the game will hopefully set the tone for the rest of the season wherein he’ll try to get into the double figures.

Substitutions

Mason Greenwood- 6.1

Couldn’t make a solid impact despite being trusted by Solskjaer in the striker’s spot.

Jesse Lingard – 6.8

Pure confidence during his moments on the pitch but needs to start scoring in order to be considered seriously for the first team.

James Garner – Brought on too late to make a lasting impact.
