What Fans Are Saying About Performances Of Smalling And Lindelof

Manchester United are back in an array of problems after their recent 1-0 loss to AFC Bournemouth. While their back-to-back away wins did take the heat off Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, this loss has brought back all their haunting issues, with the addition of more worrying ones.

Andreas Pereira’s lack of form during the game was the most evident reason for United’s absence of creative intent and lack of goals in the encounter.

However, the loss was due to Joshua King’s impeccable goal and in that regard, the backline was to blame for giving the former United player enough time to secure the attractive shot.

In particular, Victor Lindelof has come under fire.

In recent encounters, the Swedish centre-back hasn’t been at his best and away to Bournemouth, he was just as bad as he was during his early horror days at Old Trafford.

In fact, it was only David De Gea’s goalkeeping ability and a spurt of bad luck for the home side that they didn’t manage to put more goals past the Red Devils.

Twitter has now been talking about Lindelof and the excellent displays put up by Chris Smalling while on loan at Roma aren’t helping the former’s case.

The Englishman is yet to be dribbled past this season and despite the two leagues having a starkly different brand of football, he does appear to be a maestro when compared to Lindelof’s many follies.

Solskjaer and company appeared to at least have their defense secured after investing in Maguire and Wan-Bissaka this summer, but now that is in heavy doubt.

Moreover, when the Norwegian reverts to a back-three, Maguire appears to be the only capable centre-back on the pitch, with Rojo and Lindelof the other options and Phil Jones the most likely replacement on the bench.

At this rate, Axel Tuanzebe may be granted a first-team elevation while Lindelof works on his skillset.
