Paul Pogba has been ruled out of Manchester United’s midweek clash against Colchester United.

The midfielder has been out injured since his outing against Arsenal back in September, where his side was held to a 1-1 draw. Pogba sustained an ankle injury, which was thought to be minor at first but has since kept him off the pitch.

Unfortunately, it seems like United’s problems are only going to get worse as their star midfielder’s return gets delayed further due to illness. After his side’s one-all draw against Everton, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the news of the Frenchman’s unavailability.

“Of all things [Pogba’s] struck down ill now so he’s been off for two or three days, so that’s not beneficial and has set him back a bit,” the Norwegian said [via Sky Sports].

“As I’ve said many times Paul’s a top player, who we want to see playing his best football at Manchester United. We just need to get him fit. We’re working hard to get him back but now he’s ill.”

However, the former Juventus star was pictured dancing over the weekend during his brother Florentin’s wedding. And suddenly, just days after, the playmaker has been sidelined.

Fans on social media have begun their speculations as one side claims the ‘illness’ is just an excuse (similar to Lukaku’s ‘injury’ before he left) whilst the other side is disappointed at him for putting his health in harm over a party, rendering him unable to aid the team.

The record signing was rumoured to be on the lookout for an exit from Old Trafford, which may explain his ‘excuses’ to stay away from the pitch. But as a professional, it is unlikely that he would refuse to help his team due to personal issues.
