Solskjaer’s Reaction To Jesse Lingard’s Terrible Miss vs Watford

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has certainly failed to establish what was expected of him when he was appointed as Manchester United’s manager last year.

And now the Norwegian’s side have went on to face an embarrassing defeat against the team at the bottom of the table.

Although two players – de Gea and Jesse Lingard, in particular could be held accountable for the match to have gone off their hands, the 46-year-old coach is definitely keeping a cool head proclaiming that he’s not angry at the players, at least on the surface.

Lingard missed a sweet opportunity in the first half which could’ve saved United from their current plight had it been converted.

Originally intended to be playmaking, the club gaffer placed Lingard in the midfield with a lot of faith installed on him.

Despite the lacklustre performances the Englishman showcased in the club’s clash against Everton, the prolific manager decided to give the right footer a chance to redeem himself by putting him in the starting XI against Watford only to be disappointed with the result.

Regardless, the attacking midfielder’s lapses are yet again forgiven by Solskjaer, summing up from the gaffer’s words post-match.

The Norwegian manager stated (via M.E.N): “You can’t be angry. But it’s a chance he would normally put away and should put away, but you can’t be angry with players making mistakes. Why? It’s part of life and part of football.”

With a half of the season still remaining to be unfolded, it’s hard to ascertain what would happen by the end of this term.

Accordingly, the United’s No. 14 will have plenty of chances in the upcoming fixtures to regain his form back as it seems like he hasn’t entered the list of players to be offloaded in the January window yet.
