United Considering To Sign New Defender On Loan After Harry Maguire Injury

Manchester United’s woes appear to be nearing no end. After disappointing their fans with a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side let Old Trafford down when Manchester City outdid them 3-1 during the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final tie.
With performance issues plaguing the outfit and injuries handicapping their choices, United now have a massive upset due to Harry Maguire’s recent knock.
The most hopeful reports claim that Maguire will be out of action at least until February which rules him out of a crucial set of games.
To add to their woes, the Red Devils also lack a fully-fit senior centre-back apart from the fatigue-stricken Victor Lindelof as much of their other defensive options are also out injured. Phil Jones is out with a cramp and Eric Bailly still hasn’t fully recovered from his long-term injury.

Incidentally, Marcos Rojo, who was slated for a sale this month, is believed to be injury-free and is allegedly back in Manchester from his sabbatical in Argentina.
As such, the MEN, claim that the Mancunian giants are already on the lookout for a centre-back during the remainder of this winter transfer window, allegedly for a loan move until the rest of the season.

Maguire’s world-record acquisition earlier in the summer was supposed to be a deal that solved much of United’s defensive crisis.
While that hasn’t been full evident during this campaign, there is no denying that losing his services will hit him hard and make conceding goals an all the more likely scenario.
Youth academy graduates are also a possible fall-back option although there aren’t any standout names in that regard, unlike their attacking starlets. Di’Shon Bernard was certainly an impressive option but Premier League football takes its toll and hence the teenager’s efficacy may be in doubt.
