What Rio Ferdinand Tweeted About Bruno Fernandes

Hope is a dangerous thing. For Manchester United fans bang in the middle of the winter transfer window, hope may just be the last thing that they need and at the same time the best possible feeling given the state of affairs at the club.

The Bruno Fernandes saga that has frustrated many Red Devils across the globe in the summer was reignited in the past few days and many sourced are yet again indicating that the Portuguese talent is close to securing a deal with the Old Trafford outfit.

While several fans have learnt from the summer’s debacle, with reports clearly inflating the progress United had made in the midfielder’s acquisition, if any, many others were lapping up the claims.

One tweet, in particular, appears to have raised hope significantly.

Tweeting about the saga, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand clearly is as impatient as the rest of the fanbase.

The simple tweet with the midfielder’s name and symbols of a ticking clock was latched on to by the supporters of the outfit.

It is nowhere clear whether the tweet is an indication of inside knowledge that Ferdinand is aware of or whether he too, like so many other United fans, is merely getting impatient by the state of affairs.

In fact, many of them responded to the tweet begging the former defender to not inject hope yet again into what was until recently a dead saga.

This caution isn’t misplaced. The summer saw much activity around the possibility of Fernandes’ sale but nothing materialized with fans kept in the dark until deadline day and beyond.

The newer claims, however, appear to have more substance and although the reports are still piling in at the time of writing this article, United may be looking at some good news after a string of disappointments in 2020.
