Ronaldo Sent Smalling Back To Old Trafford With A Beautiful Piece Of Skill
Cristiano Ronaldo took a massive leap of faith when he shifted from Real Madrid to Juventus. Many were quick to put down the Portuguese superstar for making the move to the Serie A giants, even going on to claim that this transfer would mark the end of his time as a top player in world football.
However, he has clearly proven the critics wrong as the Juventus move, while a bumpy one occasionally, has still seen him produce memorable moments.
One such spectacle arrived recently and at the expense of an unsuspecting defender.
Juventus went toe-to-toe with AS Roma in their latest Serie A encounter. The game ended in a 2-1 win to the Old Lady, with Merih Demiral breaking the deadlock and Ronaldo sealing the win with a penalty.

While Diego Perotti did put Roma in a fighting position for the final minutes with his own penalty, the damage was done by then and the home side were served a defeat.
Such was the swagger with which Ronaldo operated after going 2-0 up that he ended up executing a brilliant piece of skill on Chris Smalling.

The English defender was left aptly flabbergasted by Ronaldo’s roulette and the damage was certainly a lasting one.
Fans stormed to social media to laugh at the expense of Chris Smalling, but a vast majority of them also reacted to the sheer excellence and ease with which Ronaldo executed the move.
The win now means that Juventus are placed safely atop the Serie A table with 48 points, above Inter Milan’s 46 points. As for Roma, they trail in the 5th position, tied on 35 points with Cagliari.
While it has become commonplace these days to comment that Ronaldo’s best days may have been in the past, such moments really make one doubt that assessment.
