Leicester Interested In Signing Luke Shaw To Replace Ben Chilwell
Luke Shaw has been struggling to get hold of the managers’ faith ever since his arrival at Old Trafford back in 2014.
The inconsistency in his form have always stood in the way of getting more game time, and it seems to be the case this time around as well with youngster Brandon Williams outperforming the Englishman easily.
Regardless, according to Mirror, via Leicester Mercury, the defender reportedly has now been registered under the radar of the currently third placed team in the League, Leicester City. Brendan Rodgers has picked interest in the fullback as he is now looking for a replacement for Ben Chilwell.
Chilwell has enticed interest from quite a lot of big names with Chelsea, Tottenham and Man City reportedly inclined to secure the left-back’s services. The England international is however tagged with a transfer fee of £60 million, which Chelsea and City are purportedly willing to pay for the defender.
Surprisingly over the period of five seasons, three different managers have reigned the prestigious club. And Shaw has made only 83 appearances in those five seasons, failing to be the favourite choice of all three influential gaffers.
Moreover, getting hit by an occasional spell of leg injuries, the left footer has struggled to make his mark at Old Trafford since his arrival from Southampton. Nonetheless, the strategies of Brendan Rodgers would supposedly benefit the Englishman as he could make use of his pace to advance forward for potential offensive plays.
Furthermore, addition of a fullback to their current defensive line would certainly exhilarate the supporters of Leicester further as they now enjoy their club’s blissful form, staying in the top four with ease.
