Man United Board Members Want Mauricio Pochettino At End Of Season
Man United are keen on appointing Mauricio Pochettino at the end of the season, reports the Independent.
The Red Devils wanted to replace the sacked Jose Mourinho last season with the Argentine, but opted against it following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s incredible returns during his initial days. Unfortunately, the Norwegian has failed to carry his initial bounce forward.
As of now, Solskjaer’s win ratio stands in its 30s and inconsistency has become a trend. A big portion of the supporters have fallen out with the gaffer whilst the rest and the board are reluctant to make a bad patch on his legend status at the club.
However, according to reports, a few amongst the United higher-ups have doubts over the former Red Devil’s longevity at the club and they have revisited the idea of appointing Pochettino.

Nevertheless, it is said that the former Cardiff City boss is under no direct threat of a sack right now. The club plan to reappoint a manager at the end of the season, should they choose to do so.
The former Tottenham Hotspur manager was sacked following a less inconsistent run of form compared to the Mancunians. There were rumours of Spurs denying the Argentine manager his preferred signings which would make sense as to why he did bad enough to be given the sack.

There’s no doubt that the ex-Southampton gaffer would drastically improve this United side. Though the former Norwegian star is a good manager, a project this big does not suit him yet.
Although there does not seem to be any concrete contact between the two parties so far, one shouldn’t bet against that happening at some point before the end of the season.
