Would be harsh to judge the Portuguese league on this alone but it’s been dire. Bruno Fernandes the standout player (that’s not saying much) and he’s predictably suffered a few fouls. Does make you wonder why he’s playing when tens of millions are on the line for Sporting. #mufc

I'm watching Bruno Fernandes in the Sporting v Benfica match. The lad has skills, he carrys the ball well under pressure, runs box to box and is happy to take on the defenders. Just the sort of attacking mid we need.#MUFC

Fernandes plays a bit like an NFL quarterback. He is literally directing his own teammates, telling them where to stand, where to move, when to pass, etc. I have mentioned for a long time that he is an alpha midfielder in his personality and play style. I really hope he comes.

With high odds of the transfer happening before the culmination of the winter window, Mancunian supporters could look forward to his addition in the midfield. The agility and vision the talented midfielder possess could be exploited well by Solskjaer with his eyes fixated on the FA Cup and a top four position in the league.
