Jack Grealish Has His ‘Heart Set On Manchester United’
Jack Grealish to Manchester United could still be a probable transfer.
After securing Champions League football on the last day of the Premier League, the Red Devils certainly have a lot more options available to them. Apart from the added financial incentives that the European competition provides, the allure of playing top-tier football is certainly one that will be a big boost to the side’s transfer hopes.
Jadon Sancho remains the most prominent name in that regard with the English starlet even trending on Twitter following United’s win over Leicester City as fans hoped this would secure his signing.
Another player that supporters also mentioned in the same regard was Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and one man certainly thinks he is on his way to Old Trafford.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Michael Owen opined confidence that Grealish would join his former club, stating: “I think he’s after Manchester United as well. I’m told he has his heart set on Manchester United. I’d be surprised if he went anywhere else.”
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder secured another season of Premier League football for Villa and that is bound to affect any potential exit of his in the summer.
Owen acknowledged as much, adding: “He’ll be more expensive now to possible suitors. There is that tie now that it’s his team and they’re still in the Premier League. It would have been an easier decision if they went down. You can’t have someone like that playing in the Championship. He’s a top player, he would suit an awful lot of teams; he’s exceptional.”
United would still have to dish out quite some money for the player as most estimates value him around the £80 million mark which would be quite an ask in the post-pandemic economy. If the Mancunian giants break the bank to sign Sancho, it is unclear how much of a budget will be left over other target areas.
