Manchester United Line Up An Enormous £177 Million Bid For 21-Year-Old

Transfers with extraordinary price tags have become a trend in Europe ever since Gareth Bale secured his famous move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid. From then on, many ridiculous transfers have been witnessed by the footballing world; from Paul Pogba’s £89m transfer to Manchester United, to Neymar’s switch to Paris Saint-Germain for £200m.

And now, it seems like the fans of the beautiful game will have to brace themselves for yet another money shower of a transfer, as the Red Devils are reportedly lining up a move for Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, United are prepared to go all out with a £177 million bid for the young Spaniard in the January transfer window. An offer said to be worth around £400,00-per-week is also reported to be tabled for Asensio should he make up his mind to depart from the Santiago Bernabeu.

In an era of surprisingly promising rise of talented youngsters, the former Espanyol man is one of those who stands out among them. That starlet has managed to bag 15 goals in 20 starts for Los Blancos, with his strikes consisting of a La Liga debut goal, a Champions League debut goal, and a winner against Clasico rivals Barcelona.

The talented winger has certainly proved to an absolute bargain for the Spanish giants, and has thus, managed to grow into the Galacticos’ first-team.

However, the Madrid outfit looks in no hurry to cash in on their young prospect, and they have reportedly inserted a €700 million release clause in his newest contract. Moreover, the Spanish international has publicly admitted his personal admiration for the club, and insists he’s there to stay.

On the other hand, it’s no secret that the Old Trafford club’s bank account is as thick as it comes, and United may even upgrade their offer if they have to.
