Manchester United have always had a healthy relationship with their youth players, often to historical outcomes.

As a result, the Premier League side boasts of a talented reserve side whose graduates are often lauded for their performances.

And now, one of the key members of their reserves and the U-21 side has made a significant decision regarding his career with United.

Goalkeeper Kieran O’Hara has signed a new contract with the Red Devils that will keep him penned to the side till 2020.

The 21-year-old has been in tremendous form for the reserves, and the deal is an accurate depiction of his progress.

Speaking to ManUtd.com, the Irish international said: “Since I joined United, it has been everything I expected it to be. The club gives you all the guidance that you need from experienced coaches to improve every single day.”

However, the youngster has no illusions about the sheer enormity of the task ahead of him should he wish to make a concrete mark on the club, as he adds:

“But I know that the hard work has just started and that I need to continue to listen and give everything in training and the matches we have coming up. I know I’m at the right place to continue my development as a young player and I’m thrilled to have signed a new contract.”

Earnest supporters will be eager to potentially see him get some first-team action and give a glimpse of what he might be capable of.
