Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney made a dull match memorable as Manchester United completed another Louis van Gaal double over Liverpool.

For the second successive season, Van Gaal’s United have won both the home and away Premier League matches against Liverpool, giving LVG a record of four wins out of four against their bitter rivals.
