BREAKING: Alex Teixeira Officially Completes €50m Move

Liverpool target Alex Teixeira is set to move to Chinese club Jiangsu Suning, Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu has confirmed.

Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Luscescu talked to the press about Teixeira’s move on Thursday night.

He said: “It’s true, we have sold to China.

“But we will wait a little to finalise it due to what happened with Luiz Adriano.

“But it’s all confirmed on our side.”

Jiangsu have been able to move for the Brazilian forward, as the Chinese transfer window does not close until February 26.

The 26-year-old Brazilian forward was close to joining Liverpool in the winter transfer window, but Premier League giants refused to meet player’s asking price despite the player’s desire to move to Anfield.

He is expected to become China’s most expensive footballing import after the fee agreed between the two clubs is higher than the £32m Guaghzuo Evergrande paid Atletico Madrid for Jackson Martinez this week.

Earlier this week, Teixeira posted a picture of himself on Snapchat, along with the caption: “Not today! But in the summer #LFC”.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists the club’s decision to pull the plug on the deal was the right one.

Alex Teixeira has scored 26 goals in as many matches for Shakhtar this season.
