Chinese Club’s £75 Million Bid For Premier League Star Turned Down

How much money do they have? After Signing Ramires, Fredy Guarin, Jackson Martinez, Gervinho and Alex Teixeira, reports suggest that the Chinese Club Jiangsu Suning have attempted to sign another high-profile player.

According to the report, Jiangsu Suning, who were completing the £38million signing of Brazilian midfielder Alex Teixeira from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday, tried to lure another Brazilian star from one of the Premier League giants.

Alex Teixeira’s £38million transfer was a new Asian transfer record, but that wasn’t enough to stop the Chinese giants from spending. According to the report, they made a bid of £75million for Chelsea midfielder Oscar – a bid that would have made him the third most expensive player in world football.

However, according to Daily Telegraph, Chelsea rejected Jiangsu Suning’s mouth-watering £75 million bid.

The Chinese Super League club are expected to return with another bid for Chelsea’s attacking midfielder. They are also planning a move for Yaya Toure at the end of this season, with the growing expectation that he will leave Manchester City when new manager Pep Guardiola arrives, and are prepared to pay an astonishing £30million-a-year in wages for the Ivorian. Other Chinese clubs are also rumoured to be interested in Toure.

Fans were fast to react on twitter after this outrageous news.
