Piers Morgan: Pep Guardiola wanted to join Arsenal and have Thierry Henry as his assistant
Television show host and Arsenal super-fan Piers Morgan has claimed that Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola wanted to replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.
The Spaniard, who currently manages Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, was revealed as Manuel Pellegrini’s successor at Manchester City for next season, signing a three-year-deal with the Citizens last month.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter, who has shares invested at Arsenal, has claimed he was told that Guardiola wanted to take charge at the Emirates, and that the 45-year-old wanted to bring Thierry Henry as his assistant at the North London club.
I was told on VERY good authority last night that Pep Guardiola wanted to come to Arsenal with Thierry Henry as his No2. #afc
