David Beckham Wants To Sign Lionel Messi For Miami United
David Beckham is planning to lure five-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi to his newest franchise, according to the Daily Mail reports.
Many big names in world football are being linked with Miami United, since David Beckham was granted the go-ahead from league officials to enter his team as early as the 2018 campaign.
Out of all those ‘big names,’ the former Real Madrid winger is plotting an audacious bid for the biggest name, who also happens to be his old Barcelona rival: Lionel Messi. Beckham sees him as the man to spearhead his Miami United revolution, according to the Daily Mail.
The 40-year-old Englishman is keen to sign a marquee name to his side to help boost their brand in the country, and Messi isn’t the only big name that is being linked with the former Manchester United legend’s Miami-based outfit.
Beckham’s former PSG teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also high on the shortlist, given that the Swede’s deal at PSG is set to expire at the end of the season, making his chances of a reunion with Beckham quite significant.
