Frank Lampard: United Should Appoint Mourinho To Compete Guardiola At City

New York City FC midfielder Frank Lampard thinks the Red Devils should appoint Jose Mourinho.

Former Blues boss, who was sacked by Chelsea in December, is widely expected to succeed the under-fire Dutchman Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United now lie sixth in the Premier League following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to West Brom.

Since Sir Alex’s departure the Red Devils have struggled to challenge for titles, but Chelsea legend thinks United can improve if they hire Jose Mourinho.

“If I’m in charge at United and I see Pep Guardiola going to Manchester City, Jose would be top of my list,” Lampard is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

“Jose will get the best out of the players there. He will recruit top players.

“They are not happy with where they are at. It’s a good option for both United and Jose. It’s a good fit.”
