Marcos Rojo Plans To Return To Hometown Club Estudiantes In 2019
Marcos Rojo is planning a return to his hometown club Estudiantes once his current deal with Manchester United ends in 2019.
The Argentine defender began his professional career with Estudiantes, and later spent five years in Europe, playing for Spartak Moscow, Sporting Lisbon, and in 2014, joined the Red Devils in a deal worth £16million.
Like many South Americans, such as Sergio Aguero, who plans to conclude his playing days with Argentinian side Independiente, Rojo is also eyeing a return to his childhood club.
“I miss the club, my family and my friends,” Rojo told TyCSports.
“I want to return to Estudiantes once I finish my contract in England.”
Argentina striker Carlos Tevez did the same when he completed his move back to Boca Juniors from Italian champions Juventus. He started his career at Boca before leaving in 2004 and returned to Argentina after nine years in Europe.
