Spanish Giants To Battle It Out For Chelsea Star

Spanish Giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to battle it out for the signature of Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, according to reports in Spain.

Chelsea had slammed an enormous £73m price tag on Courtois to fend off the initial interest from Real Madrid, according to the Express.

However, the whopping price tag may still prove to be futile in the attempt to stop the Spanish clubs from signing the 23-year-old, thanks to their massive financial resources.

Furthermore, fuel to the fire was added to this speculation due to rumours suggesting that the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper prefers life in Spain to the life in London, whilst his girlfriend Adrianna being a Spaniard also contributing to it.

Courtois too, admitted that he isn’t sure about his long-term future with Chelsea earlier this week. When asked about his future, Courtois told RTBF: “I don’t know. I still have a contract for three years so we’ll see what Chelsea want too.”
