Riyad Mahrez’ Mother Tells Him Which Club He Should Play For Next Season

Riyad Mahrez joined Leicester City back in 2014 from France’s second division club Le Havre AC.

And since arriving at the King Power Stadium, the Algerian has not only helped the Foxes get promoted to the Premier League in his first season in England, but is also on the verge of helping them win the Premier League title itself.

The 25-year-old midfielder has bagged 17 goals and 11 assists in the league this season, earning him the PFA Player of the Year Award.

Such impressive stats and consistent performances are bound to catch the attention of elite European giants, and that has indeed happened, with Mahrez getting linked with top clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and many more.

However, before any of the speculated links become concrete, Riyad Mahrez’s mother has had her say on where her son’s future should lie.

His mother was quoted as saying: “I really hope Riyad stays at Leicester.

“They have opened up the doors to glory for him. They are a club that suits him perfectly, so that is why I wish to see my son continue his career with them and remain in England.

“I want him to stay put, and strongly advise him to stay in the Premier League. England is the country where he has made his name and where he has been voted the country’s best player. He has adapted really well to life over here. Even though he has the final decision, I would love him to stay.

“You cannot imagine how happy I am at Riyad winning the PFA award. It is the joy of a mother who has seen her son succeed at the highest level.”

With Mahrez winning the league and representing the Foxes in the Champions league next season, coupled with the fact that his mother desires for him to stay put at Leicester, it’s hard to see the Algerian wizard playing elsewhere next season.
