Jose Mourinho Wants Gary Neville To Join Him At Manchester United

Jose Mourinho is all set to be officially unveiled as the next Manchester United manager in the next 48 hours, replacing Louis van Gaal, who was officially sacked last night.

The Special One has already begun the preparation for his Old Trafford tenure, and has started assembling a backroom team of coaches which will help him take Manchester United back to the topmost level of European football.

Mourinho will definitely be bringing his trusted coaching team of Rui Faria and Silvino Louro along with him, but the Portuguese tactician is also keen on recruiting new coaches that possess abundant knowledge about Manchester United.

As per reports, Mourinho is ready to let United legend Ryan Giggs stay on as an assistant coach. However, if Giggs decides to turn down the offer and leave his boyhood club, then Mourinho has other options ready in the form of another Manchester United legend – Gary Neville.

Gary Neville knows the club inside out, having made 602 appearances and won more than 15 major trophies with the Red Devils. The 41-year-old fullback, who graduated from Manchester United’s youth academy, also went on to captain the team before his retirement, and following retirement, he has managed to impress the worldwide footballing fans by displaying his ability to analyze the game better than most people, as a football pundit on Sky Sports. And despite having a failed managerial spell at La Liga club Valencia, Jose Mourinho still believes in Gary Neville’s capability to be a successful coach.

Alongside Neville, Mourinho is also rumoured to be interested in recruiting former Manchester United forward Brian Kidd, who made 200 appearances for the Red Devils during his time at the club. Kidd has been working as Manuel Pellegrini’s co-assistant manager at Manchester City for three years, but looks set to leave the Citizens due to the arrival of Pep Guardiola.

Bringing back the old and fan-favourite faces is certainly a great tactic by Jose Mourinho, as it will not only help him gain better knowledge of the club, but will also help him settle into the Manchester United hot seat smoothly along with the fans’ backing and support.
