Marcus Rashford became England’s youngest ever debut goal scorer, and also the third youngest goal scorer (behind Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen), as he found the net after just 3 minutes in the Three Lions’ international friendly against Australia at the Stadium of Light.
The Manchester United youngster was quick to pounce on a dropped ball in the box, which came from Raheem Sterling’s deflected cross, and smashed it past the Australian keeper on a hard-hit volley.
The 18-year-old now looks in pole position to be selected for England’s final Euro 16 squad, ahead of Daniel Sturridge, who has been consistently out injured.
