Conte To Sign Kante?

France international N’Golo Kante was a vital cog in the Leicester City team which won the Premier League.

The midfielder’s contributions were rewarded with him being selected in the EPL team of the season. He was also competing for the Player of the Season award,  which eventually went to his teammate Riyad Mahrez.

Ex-Juventus manager Antonio Conte confirmed that he will be the next Chelsea manager before heading to Euro 2016 with Italy. After a heart breaking loss against Germany in the quarter finals of Euro 2016, he has now turned all his attention towards Chelsea.

After securing the signature of Belgium forward Mitchy Batshuayi, the Italian will look to bolster his squad, following a disappointing season where the former reining champions finished in an underwhelming 10th position.

It has been well observed that Conte prefers a tireless runner in midfield. He had Marchisio in Juventus, Giaccherini for Italy, and according to the Le Parisien, Chelsea have agreed a deal worth €35m to sign Kante on a 5-year contract.

Kante had a breakthrough season in his career after being signed from the French lower leagues. His departure will leave a void at Leicester, which they must fill adequately if they desire to repeat last season’s heroics.
