Juventus To Sign Chelsea Star As Pogba Replacement

Juventus have identified Chelsea star Nemanja Matic as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba, if the Frenchman does end up leaving the Turin club this summer, according to reports.

Pogba is being largely linked with a sensational return to his boyhood club Manchester United, in what will be a world transfer record-breaking deal, crossing the sum of £105 million. The Red Devils will also be offering their youth academy graduate a salary worth £202,000 per week, as per the surrounding rumours.

No one can say for sure when this deal will be happening, of if it will be happening at all, but Juventus are taking no risks, and have already identified a potential replacement of their star man.

The Italian giants have reportedly set their sights on Chelsea’s midfield general Nemanja Matic.

Matic rejoined Chelsea for a fee of £21 million in January 2014 – during Jose Mourinho’s second spell in charge at Stamford Bridge. The 27-year-old greatly enjoyed his first five months in London, winning the Premier League title in the same season with the Blues.

However, the quality of his performances deteriorated during the 2015-16 season, in which Chelsea finished 10th in the league.

And now, following Chelsea’s acquisition of N’Golo Kante Leicester City for £30 million, the Serbian international’s spot in the starting XI, and even his future at the English club, has come under serious doubt.

But the reigning Serie A Champions are ready to offer Matic a way out, The Sun has revealed. The report states that if Juventus do end up losing Pogba this summer, they will go for Nemanja Matic – who currently appears to be surplus to Antonio Conte’s requirements.

Chelsea, too, have no problem with parting ways with Matic, provided they receive an offer in the region of £15 million.
