Reliable Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has provided another recent update on Paul Pogba’s transfer away from his current club Juventus.

Pogba has single-handedly dominated the ongoing summer transfer window so far, by grabbing almost all the headlines. The France international has been linked with potential big-money moves to FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and also his boyhood club, Manchester United.

However, it looks like Real Madrid have now followed the footsteps of their arch-rivals Barcelona, and bowed out of the race to secure the 23-year-old’s signature, thereby leaving the Red Devils as the sole contenders to land Pogba’s services.

The fee that will bring the Frenchman back to Manchester is believed to be in the range of £105 million – approximately £19 million more than what Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale when they broke the world transfer record back in 2013.

The speculation linking the Old Trafford club to their youth academy graduate has been an endless and continuous one, and now, there has been another development in it, provided by the trusted Spaniard Guillem Balague.

As per Balague, the news of Real Madrid pulling themselves out from the race to sign Pogba has not calmed Jose Mourinho down at all.

In fact, the Portuguese tactician is adamant as ever to complete the deal as soon as humanly possible, and will not rest until he sees his midfield target holding the Red jersey of Manchester United – something which Balague is convinced will definitely happen.

The journalist then displayed his allegiance to Spanish clubs, by stating (yet again!) that Real Madrid were indeed, the club Pogba wanted to join with all his heart.

But, since Manchester United are the only European powerhouse that can afford to pay the money wanted by Juventus and Mino Raiola (Paul’s agent), the star midfielder has no choice but to return to the Theatre of Dreams.

All that being said, Pogba is yet to put pen to paper, and until and unless he does that, anything can happen.
