Manchester’s New “God” Has Been Revealed
A few days ago, Eric Cantona made a short video of himself, where he addressed Manchester United’s recent signing, Zlatan Ibrahimović.
The former Manchester United man sent the following message to Zlatan:
“I have a personal message to Zlatan.
“You have decided for United and it is the best choice you’ve ever made. But one last thing, there can be only one king in Manchester.
“You can become a prince if you want and jersey number 7 is yours if you are interested,” he continued.
“It is my welcome gift to you. The king is gone. Long live the prince.”
Zlatan Ibrahimović, being Zlatan, obviously had to come up with a good response to assert his dominance. He came up with the most Zlatan response to date. The Giant Swede replied back:
“I heard what he [Cantona] said and I congratulate him because I have always admired him. But he should know that I won’t be king of Manchester. I will be God of Manchester.”
The Giant Swede made his statement in an interview with Swedish Newspaper, Aftonbladet.
This has to be up there in the list of Zlatan’s most outrageous quotes – and there have been some pretty outrageous ones.
Zlatan will now await Eric Cantona’s response, which we can only expect to be just as outrageous.
The Giant Swede is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils, with United already winning their first pre-season match.
We will have to wait until the end of July to see the giant Swede in the Red jersey, as he is still on holiday after his Euro 2016 campaign – wherein he played his last international match.
The 34-year-old joined Jose Mourinho’s side on a free transfer, after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ended. Zlatan stated that the only way he would stay in Paris would be if the club changes the Eiffel Tower to a statue of himself.
