Manchester City have already completed the signings of Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito – spending less than £35 million. However, their neighbors Manchester United have been busy spending, in a bid to recharge their Premier League dominance.
The Red Devils have acquired the services of Zlatan Ibrahimović, Eric Bailly, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. But, Mourinho claims that the job is only “75% done,” as the club officials look to finalize a deal with Paul Pogba.
United are prepared to spend a world-record transfer fee worth €120 million on the French international, after their initial €101 million bid was rejected by Juventus.
But, Jose Mourinho’s plans to secure Paul Pogba could soon be foiled. The Mirror report that Manchester City have tabled a £50 million bid for Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos.

Pep Guardiola is believed to be interested in the German international, as the pair spent a year together in Munich. The City boss is even prepared to pay £50 million for the World Cup winner, after he sold Kroos to Real Madrid for only £24 million while he was in charge of Bayern Munich.
If this deal does materialize, then Manchester United will be faced with a major problem in their pursuit of Paul Pogba. The problem could come in the form of Zinedine Zidane – who would then have enough money to bid on the French midfielder, after the £50 million sale of Toni Kroos.
Real Madrid had backed out of the race for Pogba after they were informed that Pogba would cost them in excess of €100 million.
Jose Mourinho’s side are believed to be already in agreement with the club and the player, but Real Madrid could really shake things up if they want to.
