Rodriguez Could Sign For Manchester United
The Colombian international signed for Real Madrid in 2014 from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco for a fee reported to be approximately in the region of €80m – making him the fourth most expensive player in the world, and third most expensive player in Real Madrid’s history.
James enjoyed a stellar first season, scoring 17 goals for Real Madrid. The 2015-2016 season, however, wasn’t good for James, as he was benched for a large amount of games, and only managed to score 8 goals in all competitions for Real Madrid. He has found himself out of favour with new manager Zinedine Zidane.
In a report featured on El Confidencial, a Spain based media outlet, James could leave Real Madrid to sign for English giants Manchester United. The fee mentioned is in the range of €64m.
It has come to light that Ed Woodward, who is currently deep in negotiations with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola and the Juventus top brass, recently met Jorge Mendes in Manchester before leaving for Italy. Mendes is also the agent of manager José Mourinho, but according to the report, the meet wasn’t about Mourinho.
Jorge Mendes also happens to be the agent of many superstars, including James Rodriguez. According to El Confidencial, Woodward apparently told Mendes to be prepared for a €64m bid coming for the 25-year-old Colombian midfielder.

Manchester United currently have Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marouane Fellaini as options for the attacking midfield role, and Jesse Lingard, along with Mkhitaryan and Mata again, who play on the right of midfield – the two positions James plays in.
The fans are therefore, beginning to wonder who will make way if the transfer for the Real Madrid star does go through.
Will it be Mata, who has already been linked with a move away from Manchester United, or will it be one of the the other players?
