Possibly the greatest transfer saga of all time is about to come to an end this week. Paul Pogba has reportedly agreed to terms with Manchester United, and will complete his medical in the next few hours.

Spanish News Outlet, Marca, have revealed that Pogba was given the option to leave the Italian Champions last year. But the move would have been to Manchester United’s bitter rivals, Manchester City.

The news outlet reports that Pogba opted to stay in Turin instead of returning to England. He was supposedly waiting for better offers, like the one he has at the moment.

Pogba is expected to complete his return to Manchester United today. The Daily Mail report that the 23-year-old will undergo his medical is Los Angeles, where he is currently on holiday. The news source also reports that the deal has been sealed, and only an official announcement remains.

The Frenchman will sign a £290,000 a week contract, which will make him one of Manchester United’s top earners – just behind Wayne Rooney.

United have been looking for the Pogba’s signature for the past month, even having two of their bids rejected by the Italians. Juventus received two offers from Manchester United, the first was €100 million while the second was €120 million.

But, the Old Lady rejected both of the bids as it was revealed that Manchester United expected them to pay up Mino Raiola (Pogba’s agent) agent’s fee of €25 million.

All the formalities have now been ironed out, with Manchester United agreeing to pay out a total of £112 million for their former midfielder. £92 million will go towards Juventus, while £20 million will be pocketed by Mino Raiola.

Pogba left Manchester United in 2012 after Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t give the youngster a chance. However, reports have also claimed the club refused to give Pogba a higher wage.
