Chelsea’s current striker, Diego Costa, is considering a move away this season, as he eyes a switch to his former club, Atletico Madrid.
Conte is believed to be looking to play two strikers per game during the upcoming season. This would mean that he would have to sign at least one more striker.
Romelu Lukaku played 46 matches last season and scored 25 goals for the Merseyside club – the form that has earned him his £75 million price tag.
Chelsea have already signed an attacking player this season, Michy Batshuayi, but still need a big name if they are to resolve last season’s disastrous performance, which saw them finish 10th in the league.
