Ozil Would Relish A Return To Madrid
Mesut Ozil would jump at the chance to play for Real Madrid again, according to German newspaper Bild.
Ozil is likely to stay at the Emirates and sign a contract extension with the club, but would not hesitate to join Real if they came calling. The German is determined to win trophies, and may therefore, choose to leave Arsenal should they not be able to win silverware in the coming years.
Ozil has been a crucial player for the Gunners since he signed for the club from Real in 2013. He has suffered dips in form, for which he has come under intense criticism, but his overall value to the team is undoubted.
Should he decide to leave the club, a return to Los Blancos would be his preferred choice, as he holds the club dear to his heart. Bayern Munich were also considering a move for Ozil, but president Karl-Heinze Rummenigge is reportedly not a fan.
The 27-year-old made 45 appearances for Arsenal last season, scoring eight goals and assisting a mammoth 20 times.

He was instrumental in helping the Emirates outfit win their first trophy in nine years, as Arsenal lifted the FA Cup, and then defended their crown the next season as well.
He quashed any sort of rumours linking him with a move to his old club’s fiercest rivals Barcelona at the start of the transfer window, however, indicating that he wants to remain at Arsenal for years to come.
‘At Arsenal, Arsène Wenger has shown that he is one of the best managers in history,’ Ozil told France Football.
‘He has revolutionised the club and created magnificent success. I am proud and aware of the luxury I have of working for such a coach.
‘His simple discourse immediately seduced me when I was asking questions about my future in the summer of 2013. He chose the perfect words to convince me. The great strength that Wenger has is he knows how to talk to his players.
‘On the pitch, I am always enjoying myself. I am lucky to play in the best league in the world and to be a certain starter at one of the best English clubs,’ continued Ozil.
‘In the Premier League, my enjoyment is very high. As long as I am in perfect physical condition.’
