UFC star Conor McGregor has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a brand new deal with Real Madrid.

The Portugal international is currently under contract with the Madrid-based club until 2018, and earns approximately £16.5 million a year.

However, according to the recently emerged reports from Spain, the 31-year-old is all set to extend his stay with the reigning European Champions.

As per the trusted Spanish news outlet AS, Cristiano Ronaldo has been in contact with Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, over a new deal.

Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is believed to have scheduled a meeting with Perez over the new contract, and it will take place soon. This new contract, however, won’t give the Portuguese captain much of a pay rise, but it will extend his stay in Madrid for another five years.

But according to UFC superstar Conor McGregor’s latest statements, Ronaldo has already completed signing a new deal with Los Blancos.

McGregor was recently asked in an interview if he would ever overtake his friend, Cristiano Ronaldo, in the Forbes rich list.

The Irish mixed martial artist replied by telling the audience at a UFC event: “Give me next year. I’ll climb that Forbes list and challenge him for the No.1 spot. He’s up there and he said he’s just signed a new deal with Real Madrid, so it’s going to be tough.”

Conor and Cristiano do seem quite close to each other, so it’s safe to assume that the Irishman is, in fact, speaking the truth. Great news for Real Madrid fans!
