Schweinsteiger Was Warned Well Before Manchester United Axe
Sportsmail reports Bastian Schweinsteiger was warned that he should get in shape instead of travelling the world, or face being axed by the gaffer.
The retired Germany Captain made a habit of travelling alongside his girlfriend (now his wife), Ana Ivanovic, to watch her play tennis, whilst being sidelined by injuries.
Fresh reports claim that a group of Manchester United players approached the 32-year-old and advised him to concentrate on healing his injury instead of traveling around, or be ready to face the axe.
Schweinsteiger was approached by the Manchester United stars around the time while the Red Devils were battling it out for a Champions League spot and inevitably failing.
The players told Bastian that the pictures of him frolicking with his partner were not setting a good example to the Manchester United youths, who look up to the 32-year-old for inspiration.
It is believed that Bastian’s unwillingness to stay in Manchester and train harder is the reason that Jose Mourinho has banished him to the reserve squad.

Schweinsteiger was ordered to train with the reserves on his 32nd birthday, which brought much controversy to Jose Mourinho, with claims for the Special One to be jailed for his treatment of the German star.
Bastian joined Manchester United last season for a total of £6.5 million, and United are now believed to have put the German up for sale, and are listening to offers starting at £2.5 million.
The Red Devils are willing to sell Schweinsteiger for such a low price due to his high wage requirements. However, Bastian has already taken to social media to clear doubts over his future.
He stated that “Manchester United will be my last European club,” and went on to praise the Red Devils, and mentioned how they were the only club that he would have left Bayern Munich for.
Only time will tell if Mourinho will award Bastian another chance in the first team squad.
