Inter Look To Sign Darmian

According to Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A giants Inter Milan are interested in signing Manchester United’s Italian fullback Matteo Darmian.

Inter are looking to reinforce their defence, and they have listed Matteo Darmian as someone who could help them do that. Inter are interested in signing the Italian on a loan deal from Manchester United.

Darmian had a promising start to his United career, but injuries and position changes affected his game, and he gradually began fading.

Matteo began his career with Serie A giants AC Milan, making his Serie A debut at age 17. In 2009, he joined Padova, whom he helped avoid relegation from Serie B in his only season there.

He then returned to the Serie A with Palermo, and one year later, signed for Torino, where he played for four seasons.

On 11 July, 2015, Darmian joined English giants Manchester United for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £12.7 million.

Under new manager José Mourinho, the 26-year-old has fallen behind Antonio Valencia in the pecking order. Darmian has not started a single match out of the 3 matches United have played in the 2016-2017 Premier League season.

With rumours surrounding AS Monaco right-back Fabinho moving to Manchester United, Darmian’s United future looks bleak.

Inter have recently signed Joao Mario and Gabriel Barbosa, also known as Gabigol, and they don’t look like they are done with their summer shopping.

Due to FFP constraints, they need to look for cheaper options, and they have zeroed in on Darmian.

They will have to complete the deal quickly, as the transfer window ends on the 31st of August.
