Manchester United summer signing, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, has confirmed that he will be able to play in the upcoming Manchester Derby, but it remains uncertain whether he will start the match.

The Armenian captain was taken off during an International friendly against the Czech Republic after he collided with Czech defender, Marek Sukhy, and was left in discomfort.

Mkhitaryan revealed after the match that he will be hoping to play during Armenia’s next game, which will be a qualifying match for the FIFA 2018 World Cup.

His eagerness to play the next match will come as a boost to Manchester United fans, who were worried that Henrikh may not be able to feature in the upcoming Manchester Derby.

The 27-year-old is expected to become an integral part of the Manchester United squad, although Jose Mourinho is yet to start him in a single competitive match.

He did, however, play in all of Manchester United’s Premier League matches this season, and even played a big role in their 1-0 win away to Hull last weekend.

Jose Mourinho will be meeting his old partner Pep Guardiola, as Manchester United take on Manchester City on the 10th of September. This is a match which United fans will take as the defining factor of this season, as City will be their first high-profile opponent of their campaign.

Both City and United have won their first three matches of the season, although Guardiola’s side have scored more goals, meaning they have the edge over their cross-town neighbors.

United are expected to start the match with their record signing Paul Pogba, but Marouane Fellaini is reportedly going to miss the match due to a back injury.

Mkhitaryan is expected to start the match as well, although Mourinho insists that the player needs time to be integrated into the squad.
