N’Golo Kante Snubbed Premier League Giants For Chelsea Move

Chelsea summer signing, N’Golo Kante, has revealed that he had the chance to join Jose Mourinho this summer, but instead opted for a move to the Blues.

Kante, who was a crucial member of Leicester City’s 2016 title-winning squad, joined Antonio Conte’s side this summer in a £32 million deal.

However, the Frenchman has revealed that Jose Mourinho called him to try and lure him to Old Trafford, but he had already decided on a move to the Bridge.

The ex-Leicester man said that he received the call from Mourinho just weeks after he celebrated winning the title with Leicester City.

Kante added that it was ‘amazing’ that Mourinho had called him, but he just had a better feeling with Antonio Conte, and therefore snubbed the Red Devils.

“It was amazing to have Mourinho call me, even though I’d been warned before how he would appeal to me,” Kante said.

“I listened to his arguments about why I should move to United. But at that time I was hesitant between staying at Leicester or leaving for Chelsea.

“My discussions with them were already well underway. But when I spoke, I had a good feeling with Conte.”

N’Golo Kante is already becoming a pivotal member of the Chelsea squad, having played all three Premier League matches for the Blues this season.

Conte will be hoping that his revived squad can improve from last season’s disastrous performance, which saw them finish 10th in the League.

Kante’s Manchester United snub meant that Jose Mourinho would have to look for other midfield options, and the Red Devils eventually completed a world-record £89 million deal with Juventus over the transfer of Paul Pogba.

Jose Mourinho will be hoping to win the title with Manchester United this year, although he faces stiff competition from Manchester City and Chelsea.
